Financedu won the 2023 Congressional App Challenge for California's 24th Congressional District, a computer science competition recognizing innovative applications created by youth across the nation.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, Financedu strives to make financial education free for all ages, closing disparities in access to financial literacy. First introduced in Dos Pueblos High School in Santa Barbara, California, Financedu will continue to expand to schools across the nation.
Financedu's Founder, Eamon Gordon, expressed excitement about his receipt of the award: "I am honored and grateful to receive the App Challenge Award 2023. This recognition motivates me to continue creating solutions that make a positive impact."
Congressman Salud Carbajal praised Financedu's approach: "It’s inspiring to see young minds contributing to financial literacy through technology. This app has the potential to empower students nationwide."
As a winner of the Congressional App Challenge, Financedu will be featured in the United States Capitol as part of a two-day showcase. In addition, it will be displayed on the website of the United States House of Representatives, house.gov.
