Outsourcing

Outsourcing is the process of a company or organization delegating a task to another contractor.

Take, for instance, the activities of a marketing company. Instead of paying a few specialized employees, they may choose to delegate the accounting activities of their company to another firm.

Companies often outsource labor in specific sectors, like manufacturing and mining, to less expensive localities. Over the past several decades, for instance, the manufacturing of apparel and shoes, once common in the United States, has shifted to a handful of countries in Southeast Asia.
